about fabrikade

The fabrikade Story

“The birth of fabrikade was not out of a spark or a coincidence. It was a progression of what we love about design t-shirts and the online shopping experience at some of our favourite webstores.” Creative head & partner, Jonathan was personally intrigued close to 3 years ago with the resounding success and approach of three people who owned a graphic design t-shirt webstore based in the States.

In late 2007, three friends got the bug to start a online business over coffee and then a couple of beers at Vivocity, Singapore. Through the power of the Web, they envisioned bringing together a network of indie Singapore and foreign designers via the Web. It is the same reasons fabrikade is running on. They launched their fully-functional site and began taking orders in January 2008.

Having observed that people are now spending a great amount of time on the Web, they have adopted various online communication channels to reach out to this audience. Keeping them constantly in touch of their happenings and progresses via newsletters, blog entries, Facebook fanpage and Twitter.

fabrikade will continue working on brewing the culture of design appreciation and awareness in Singapore. They are ever weaving and adding new colours and feel to this big piece of fabric, presenting their very own works to the global market. Supporting fabrikade is a small move but a big boost to the Singapore design industry and designers. We hope our customers do not view us as “just another online store”, but as a platform for Singapore designers to showcase their ideas and products.

Bringing together a network of indie Singapore and foreign designers via the Web

fabrikade (pronounced as fab-ri-kayd), is conceived with the aim of bringing together a network of indie Singapore and foreign designers via the World Wide Web. As the name suggests, we are to create, to invent. Our purpose is to bring more talents in the industry and related trades together for fusion of ideas and collaboration, in the form of t-shirts + streetwear + accessories that exude personality, attitude, creativity, fun and funk.

Clothes are not just clothes. fabrikade's couture and lines features different aspects of vintage, classic, trendy, popular culture, sophisticated, glamour, unconventional, well, almost any style or era that we feel they can bring out the best in our works and in you.

fabrikade's culture is more than being an online shopping store. We will constantly bring your fresh exclusive designs, looks and styles. We urge the audience, fans and fellow designers to bond with us, by actively participating and contributing in parts of our development and progress. There will always be something new and something exciting in fabrikade from us, to you, for all.

Hope you enjoy wearing or even just browsing fabrikade.
